THE Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) said it would be prosecuting two retailoutlets of minimart chain I-TecSupermart for allegedly persisting in selling imported milk and milk products from China.
The statutory board had ordered milk products to be pulled off the shelves on Sept 19, but a news report two days later said that four of the five outlets of I-TecSupermart were “prominently” displaying Monmilk, Wall’s ice-cream and the China-made Dutch Lady strawberry-flavoured milk. The latter, which the supermart allegedly had on the shelves of its Serangoon, Jalan Besar and Geylang outlets, had been found to contain melamine, which is usually used in making plastics.
